the evolution of Experiences by Neal Rosenthal
Great vignerons exist as both master craftsmen and ordinary farmers, in a business where a single untimely frost can destroy a year’s work and the livelihood that stems from it. To produce their wines they must cultivate a diversity of rare grapes, and tailor ancient techniques to new and unpredictable circumstances. And this must happen amid an increasingly globalized market that favors cost-cutting over character, and convenience over specificity.
But a great bottle of wine cannot be engineered by technology or in large corporate vineyards. When such a bottle is opened, there is a mystical alchemy to the experience that imprints in the memory of all those present. They recall not only a complexity of aromas and flavors, but the room, the light, the faces of their companions, and the sound of those voices.
The desire to preserve this experience has driven Neal throughout his career, from the founding of Rosenthal Wine Merchant to the expansion of his food and hospitality business, culminating now with Experiences by Neal Rosenthal. At Experiences, we know that wine is not just another item in the grocery aisle, or a dusty artifact on the shelf of a Museum - it is a living and changeable thing. Our ethos is interpersonal, and of then and now, transporting our guests into the terroir in the deepest sense. In this way, we create a culture in which the artisan can prosper, and where their products will bring the greatest possible joy to all those who get to savor them.
