As the founder of Rosenthal Wine Merchant, Neal Rosenthal has spent more than forty years as an ambassador for the small family-owned domains and artisanal growers behind the world’s finest wines. Decades of intimate contact with the terrain and traditions of Italy, France, and Switzerland have provided Neal with a deep connection to these places and people of extraordinary character. It is from his desire to share this wealth of experience and relationships that Mad Rose Journeys was born.

Neal Rosenthal has drawn on his diverse expertise and close personal relationships to craft a series of fully curated itineraries.
Days include tasting wines, olive oils, honeys, and other specialty products straight from the source, as well as visits to storied cellars and vineyard tours with the vigneron. Nights are spent at Michelin-starred restaurants and intimate bistros in the company of creators. We take our travelers deep into museums, galleries, and histories of enchanting cities. Many of the destinations we visit are open only to us. For that reason that we limit each Journey to 8 guests, and schedule only a handful per year.

Pilgrimage to Burgundy & The Jura
Burgundy, the mecca of those who worship wine, is the centerpiece – but it’s not the only prize in this unique exploration of the wonders of eastern France. The journey begins and ends in Geneva, making its way into the rarely visited French Jura.

Our journey through Provence will take us to its less frequented side revealing a world abundant with stimuli for all the senses … wine and food; art and nature; sea and hills; countryside and city.

Our journey to the northwestern corner of Italy takes us to places not frequented by tourists. This is a land of breathtaking natural beauty and long complex histories. It is a place of grand wines and those more humble, rich and complex cuisine, and memorable architectural and cultural landmarks.

On this very special late Autumn journey to Piedmont and the Langhe you will taste the area’s great foods and wines and experience its culture during the height of the white truffle season. For seven days and six nights, we will visit the region’s best artisans of food and wine, people with whom we have long personal relationships, who will open their doors to us.
