We are delighted to welcome you on what promises to be an incredible journey to Jura, France this July.
There will be so much to discuss, to see, and of course, to taste, this summer in the Jura. We will gather in storied cellars to hear the tales of this vintage and the varied ones before it. We will discover the magic of living with the seasons and the trials of their unpredictability, and we will delve into the growers’ innovative plans for the future.
A memorable trip awaits and we are eager to share the adventure with you.
Day-by-Day Itinerary
Monday, July 21
12:30 PM - Upon arrival, we will have lunch at Bistrot des Claquets in Arbois, a local’s favorite offering a market cuisine seasonal products and an organic and natural-wine focused list
2:00 PM - We will check in our hotel La Closerie des Capucines
4PM - Wood-turning experience with Nicolas in his shop Au Détour du Bois, in Arbois
5 PM - We regroup for masterclass on Jura’s unique wines and terroir
7:30 PM - Dinner will be at Les Arcades in Arbois, formerly a convent, the establishment has been transformed into a restaurant for about forty years and offers traditional Franche-Comté cuisine
Overnight: La Closerie les Capucines
Tuesday, July 22
9:30 AM - This morning, we will dive deeper into the geological history of the Jura region and its influence on the wines in a second masterclass
11 AM - We will continue with a visit and tasting with Michel Gahier in Montigny-lès-Arsures also known as “The Capital of Trousseau”
12:30 PM - For lunch, we will make our way to Mouchard for a meal at Kokagué, a bistronomic restaurant that offers a locavore cuisine with Japanese influences. In perfect harmony with the seasons, the creations highlight local produce and vegetables grown on-site
4 PM - After lunch we will make our way to Mathenay for a visit and tasting with Emeric Foléat
6 PM - Back to Arbois, we will enjoy some downtime at the hotel before dinner
7:30 PM - Dinner will be at Circus, in town
Overnight: Closerie des Capucines
Wednesday, July 23
10:30 AM - This morning we will make our way to L’Étoile for a wine tasting at Domaine de Montbourgeau and a dive into the 52-hectar appellation of L’Étoile
1 PM - Lunch will be in Château-Chalon at Le Bouchon du Château
4 PM - We will visit and taste with Joseph Dorbon
7:30 PM - Tonight, dinner will be at Le Bistronôme, in Arbois, a gastronomic restaurant that offers a refined and creative cuisine with a curated wine list
Overnight: La Closerie des Capucines
