The Jura Meets the Langhe:

A Culinary and Cultural Exploration of Two of the World's Greatest Wine Producing Regions

We are thrilled to announce an exciting special event that will take place November 5-7 at Neal Rosenthal’s charming chambre d’hôtes, La Closerie les Capucines, in Arbois, France. The Jura Meets the Langhe is the debut of a series of in-depth comparisons of the great wine producing regions of the world, during which special guests from these two rich viticultural and culinary regions will engage in discussions, tastings, meals, and excursions celebrating their respective terroir.

Rosenthal Wine Merchant growers from the Jura will present their wines alongside those of one of the most esteemed estates of the Langhe, Luigi Oddero. Renowned chefs Jean-Paul Jeunet from Arbois and Michelangelo Mammoliti from Alba will create special dishes featuring prized local products from their respective regions, such as morels and truffles. Special guests will also include the Montanaro family, owners of TartufLanghe, a prestigious and pioneering truffle company from Alba.

Other highlights of the two-day affair will include a seminar on the wines and culture of the Jura and the Langhe guided by Neal and special guests Gabriele Gorelli, Italy’s first Master of Wine, and Gelasio Gaetani d’Aragona of Italian auction house Wannenes; visits to Neal’s growers in the Jura; a walking tour of the Arbois; and guided tastings that will include not only wines from the Jura and the Langhe, but also a few special surprises from Neal’s growers in the celebrated Côte d’Or.

The price of The Jura Meets the Langhe is 1,500 EUR per person or 2,500 per couple sharing a room and includes all meals, tastings, activities, and two nights’ lodging in Arbois. If you would like to attend, please email info@madrosejourneys.com with the subject line "Jura Meets Langhe" and we will promptly reply.
